On may 2017, from therapeutic and educative school CTE Can Ros is scheduled a visit to the dry stone barracks of Mont-roig del Camp (Baix Camp), recently declared a cultural asset of national interest by the Generalitat de Catalunya.
It is called “dry stone” the construction system which basically uses the stone without any element of union, while in some cases it gets mud between the stones. Close of the crops used to build barracks that served as shelter during the working days. Dry stone constructions have great historic value and represent one of the most common construction in the Mediterranean types.
On this visit, residents and members of the educative and academic teams of CTE Can Ros will see five dry stone barracks (of 135 preserved in this municipality). Prior to the visit, this month, they will work the matter from different perspectives in different subjects of the school.
