Visit to the Museum of Cal Vidal textile colony, at Puig-reig

From 15 to 19 may, residents and members of academic and educative teams of the therapeutic and educative school CTE Valldaura went to visit the Museum of Cal Vidal textile colony, at Puig-reig (Barcelona).

In this visit, which is part of the program of academic and cultural activities, they could learn how was life and work in a textile colony of 1900, making a tour of the inside of the Vidal colony which until today has conserved heritage in its entirety. Boys and girls residents could visit the working settlement services, dwellings, school, library… and a permanent exhibition that explains the daily life of men and women working in the factory and the services of the industrial complex, where you can see the basic elements of the use of water as a source of energy –dam, canal, turbines–, the steam engine and the most significant textile machinery in the process of transformation of cotton.
