Live the Summer 2017 in Amalgama7!

The Amalgama7 therapeutic and educative schools are scheduled this summer 2017 to offer a wide range of activities (psychotherapeutic, cultural, educative, recreational…), both internal and external, for the resident boys and girls.

Among others, there will be excursions and visits to various places in Catalonia, activities that, taking advantage of the summer classroom hours, will be accompanied by a previous and later work in the classroom.

Here are some of the most important activities that will be carried out in each of the schools:

CTE Can Ros: Summer Classroom

Thematic Weeks

Each day of the week is dedicated to a different type of activity (playful, therapeutic, socio-educative, cultural…):

  • Monday: excursions and exits (Roman site dels Munts, Siurana…).
  • Tuesday: preventive psychotherapeutic workshops (workshops on violence, bullying, drugs, eating disorders…).
  • Wednesday: music and English (different musical genres will be worked and we will take advantage of the activity to increase the level of English).
  • Thursday: themes of cultural and social content through audiovisuals (the end of ETA, refugees, subliminal advertising)…
  • Friday: debates on natural and social sciences (dangerous animals, industrial revolution, silent films…).

With the theme weeks, we want the boys and girls to work on different themes and disciplines in a fun and interactive way, in order to learn new things in a much more fun way.

Excursions and departures

  • The Roman Villa dels MuntsRoman villa dels Munts

The exit consists of a visit to the archaeological nucleus located in Altafulla (Tarragona), only 12 km from Tarragona. Famous for being the place of residence of Caio Valerio Avitus, Duumviri of Tarraco, the most important office of local administration in Roman territory during the second century and named directly by the emperor Antonin Pio. For this reason it is considered one of the most important groups of Hispania in its category.

The visit has the purpose that the boys and girls of the CTE Can Ros expand their knowledge about Roman times, learn what was a Roman villa and its different functions – first, as a population more agricultural, but very soon transformed into areas of character Residential – and to see what a Roman house was like, and especially that of a high official.

  • Siurana

SiuranaVisit the village of Siurana, located in the Priorat region (Tarragona), in the municipality of Cornudella de Montsant, where you can see the main points of interest in the area: the church of Santa María de Siurana (Romanesque church built between the 12th and 13th centuries), the Arab Castle (the last Saracen redoubt that resisted until the end of the reconquest) and contemplate the landscape that allows the privileged situation of Siurana. One of these points is the Leap of Queen Mora, a precipice that gives way to the legend of Abdelazia, an Arab woman who caught herself was thrown with her horse for fear of being captured by the Christians.

Afterwards we go to the reservoir, where we will eat and take advantage to refresh ourselves.

  • Delta de l’EbreCycling route in Delta de l'Ebre

Visit to the Ebre river Delta, where the resident boys and girls take a bicycle tour of this natural park, where they can enjoy different environments of a great diversity of fauna (birds, fish, amphibians, reptiles, etc.) Of what constitutes the most extensive aquatic habitat of Catalonia, with a total of 320 km2 of surface.

CTE Valldaura: Summer class

Some of the activities planned to be carried out jointly between the classroom and the socio-educative team:

  • Kayak route through the Baells swamp

Kayak at La BaellsDuring July and August, the boys and girls residents of the Therapeutic and Educative School CTE Valldaura make several trips to the bay of the Baells, located in the municipality of Cercs (Berguedà Region).

The exits consist of a walk on foot and a kayak trip through this artificial reservoir built in the 1970s, whose construction caused a great ecological and human impact for the area, as the water currently immerses the populations of Sant Salvador de la Vadella and the old core of the Baells.

  • La Palomera ParkLa Palomera Park

This adventure park, located in the area of Pedraforca peak, offers the possibility of different routes and itineraries through Tibetan bridges, stairs, zip lines, nets, tunnels, etc. Thus, the residents can enjoy this playful activity, at the same time they are in full contact with nature.

  • Sant Quirze de Pedret

This exit, which combines sporting, leisure and cultural activities, cycles through the Romanesque surroundings of the Berguedà, surrounding the paths that cross the bridge of Pedret (XII-XV centuries) to the church of Sant Quirze de Pedret (IX-X centuries), one of the most important samples of the pre-Romanesque Catalan. And to finish the tour, what better than to cool off in the mighty stream of the Portella.

  • Camp Nou ExperienceCamp Nou Experience

One of the activities that take place from the Urban Therapeutic and Educative School is the visit to the field of FC Barcelona, which consists of a tour of the FC Barcelona Museum, the stands of the stadium, the changing area and the bench area in the same lawn of the Camp Nou.

This way, the boys and girls can see some of the interiors of one of the biggest stadiums in the world and make the dream of some of them to see the magnificent FC Barcelona stadium.

  • Museum of History of Barcelona (MUHBA)

Visiting the MUHBAWe take a tour of the Roman Barcelona (Barcino or Barchinona), where you can see how the founding of the city of Barcelona was conceived with the arrival of the Romans. Among others, it allows us to visit the ancient Domus and the old wall, showing us the importance of the arrival of the Roman culture to our lands and making us an approximation to how our ancestors lived and interacted.

  • Barcelona Chocolate MuseumBarcelona Chocolate Museum

The visit to this museum offers an approach to the history of chocolate, from its origins to the secrets of its production. In addition, residents can participate in the activity “Artists of chocolate”, in which they experiment and make figures and drawings of chocolate, in addition to being able, of course, to taste it.

  • Excursion to Isla Fantasia Park

To refresh and enjoy the summer, we make an exit to the water park Isla Fantasia, located in Vilassar de Dalt (Maresme Region, Barcelona). With this playful activity, the resident boys and girls can take a tour of a large number of attractions in one of the most emblematic water parks in Catalonia.
