On 1st May 2017, the “Major Party” (Aplec of Santa Maria de Valldaura) was celebrated at the Therapeutic School CTE Valldaura , including a Mass presided by Monsignor Xavier Novell, Bishop of Solsona.
This event, belonging to the socio-educative area (within the group of educative activities), is held annually on 1st May, in the spaces of this therapeutic school which, in ancient times, was a Cistercian monastery founded in the 13th century.
Mainly, the neighbors of the town of Olvan (Berguedà) used to make a pilgrimage to the Romanesque hermitage of Santa María de Valldaura. From Amalgama7, wishing to respect people, history and tradition, we have held this holiday by extending it to the young residents, the team and friends.
At 11:30 a welcoming meeting was held for the celebration of the Eucharist, followed by Xavier Novell, Bishop of Solsona. Once the Mass was over, attendees were able to enjoy a magic show by Dani Magik. Finally, the party closed with an aperitif and a guided tour of the center.
The objectives of this activity are:
- Keep the tradition of this meeting as a thank you to the neighbors of Olvan and his Town Hall for their welcome.
- Make it possible for May 1 also to be an open day so that all those who wish can visit the facilities of the residential center, as well as know their plan of operation.
- That the residents themselves are in charge of making the guided tours.
