Therapeutic activity. Residential centres
Amalgama-7 makes a specific diagnosis in each case and proposes a personalized therapeutic plan to be carried out either in the context of the outpatient consultation centre or at one of our residential facilities.
Rural residential centre (Therapy and Education Centre - long-term care)
  • Length of stay
    • Depending on the diagnosis and the therapeutic plan devised at the outpatient clinic, the proposed stay will beshort (less than 3 months), medium (3 to 12 months) or long (over 1 year).
  • Therapeutic activity
    • Individual and group therapy; includes a biopsychological side involving physicians, psychologists and psychiatrists, and a socioeducational one involving teachers, childcare workers and monitors.
  • Educational activity
    • The aim is to ensure that the resident boy or girl does not drop out of his or her academic studies, or else starts new ones. To this end we deploy a wide range of possibilities.
  • Sociotherapeutic activity
    • The resident boy or girl is provided with a variety of scheduled and non-scheduled activities that are carried out either within the centre or nearby (for example, hikes, camping trips, cultural visits to places of interest, sports activities, a film club, theatre, birthday celebrations, parties, and so on).
  • Visits and outings
    • Depending on the diagnosis and the progress made in the therapeutic plan, parents and/or other relatives make periodic visits to the resident boy or girl. Similarly, progressive outings are planned for weekends, public holidays and holiday periods.

Urban residential centres (Therapy and Education Centre - home with support)
First and foremost, these centres perform the function of a second-stage facility; that is, they serve to facilitate the return and integration into society and the family of boys and girls who have previously received treatment at the rural residential centre.

  • Length of stay
    • Nevertheless, depending on the diagnosis and the therapeutic plan, the urban residential centre can also take them directly. In this case, stays can again be short (less than 3 months), medium (3 to 12 months) or long (over 1 year).

  • Visits and outings
    • At the urban residential centre there are no family visits, as the resident boys and girls have outings at weekends, on public holidays and in holiday periods, unless these outings are unsuitable for the progress of the treatment. In this event, residential care is offered at weekends, on public holidays and in holiday periods.
